Fänas Architecture is, by design, a small firm. The portfolio you are looking at is the portfolio of the firms partners, Dale & Elizabeth Smith. Dale and Elizabeth will be intimately involved from inception, and for the duration, of your project. You will not be passed on to another project manager or project architect. You will be dealing with a responsible, accountable individual who has a vested interest in your project, and your satisfaction as our client.

We designed our first ‘sustainable’ home in 1995, and recently completed the first LEED certified residential remodel in the State of Colorado (Sep 09).  Fänas is committed to integrating sustainable products and features into our work wherever possible.  We consider ourselves a resource for our clients, and are available with the information necessary to help you make educated decisions related to all aspects of sustainable design and materials selection.

With over twenty-five years of professional experience, Fänas designs energy-efficient “green” architecture that is in harmony with its surroundings. We would like to put to rest the stigma that “green architecture” is unattractive and unaffordable. Our projects demonstrate aesthetics equal, or superior, to other projects of conventional methodologies.

Each home we design varies in its “shade of green”, based on a clients preferences and budget. To better understand our homes and the contribution it makes to ‘sustainability’, a simple system of ‘greeness’ has been employed to highlight the dominant sustainable features of each.
